What DO you have with most Novus Ordo Catholics?

They believe in God, so their spiritual cravings are satisfied, yet God is made totally irrelevant in their life. He seems to demand nothing of them.

I think that trying to turn God into a lapdog (an expression coined by Bishop Williamson) is even more insidious than trying to pretend God doesn't exist.

I think it's a great analogy -- the Novus Ordo Catholics trot out God on Sundays, or when they have some crisis in their life, in order to feel better, but the rest of the time they keep Him in His cage. Who lets their pet dog run their life, anyhow? A pet dog is kept for sentimentality and pleasure -- not out of justice.

Not sure which is worse objectively (believing God does not exist or being a V2 Catholic in the mode you describe).  

I'm not sure their spiritual cravings are satisfied.  In fact I'm not sure they have spiritual cravings; especially if they lack sanctifying grace and don't realize it.  Their warm and fuzzy "I fulfilled my obligation" is satisfied however.  Also satisfying to some and the most enjoyable part of going to their liturgy is seeing and being seen there by their friends and the socialization [before, during] afterwards.

It is sad.  But on the surface they can be more civil and less angry than traditional Catholics and the older generation (70 and above) tend to be loyal friends.  

For the Devil?  Which is "better"?  Whatever gets the most people to Hell, nothing else matters to him.  Both will do just fine and V2 gets those who believe in God there and for the atheists they find their way to Hell on their own just fine thank you.
