I feel very bad for Mike and his wife, he shares an incredible story:

This edition, our Septuagesima edition, so to speak, will take readers to Ash Wednesday and on the first day of Lent we will produce our annual Lenten edition providing all one needs to properly observe this penitential season as time grows shorter for all of us.

    There are a few reasons for these special editions. First, we are moving. The apartment complex in which we've lived for three years was sold in November to another company, and this company is renovating everything in making beaucoup cosmetic improvements so that they can raise the rents. Thus, with our lease expiring on our 750 square-foot apartment, our computer broken and the augur of a steep rent increase we searched the neighborhood and were truly blessed to have found a spacious 1,250 square foot manufactured home just a few miles from where we have resided for the past three years.

    In fact, it's just across Tecolate Canyon here in San Diego and if we had a zip-line it would be a one-minute ride. As it is, by road it's a bit longer, but no more than ten minutes away and more convenient to all venues. The home faces the north rim inlet of this picturesque arroyo where below to the left is the far, far end of a golf course driving range. We are able to still get the cool ocean breezes since we're only four miles from the Pacific as the crow flies, or the Tecolate hawks and owls which habitat this verdant National Park preserve.

    On 1-11 of this year we signed the papers for the home that is number 111 in the zip code of 92111. Talk about the signs from Heaven: of course 111 stands for Father, Son and Holy Ghost and, without having to put any money down other than closing costs, taxes, etc., the owner, is willing to carry the loan. This is, for us, truly miraculous since the terms originally were $10,000 down and she would carry the balance. There was no way we could ever do that. As much as we loved the home, we decided that if it were God's will, then somehow it would work out. Thinking positive comes natural for Traditional Catholics.

   Thus, through prayer and God's providence, we received quite a Christmas present, if you will, during Christmastide when our real estate agent Randy told us that the seller had decided to meet our offer where she'd carry the full amount and we could make affordable monthly payments to her. All we needed up front were a few thousand dollars for closing and commission. We must admit we bottomed out our checking account, but just made it by $4. out of The DailyCatholic account since the apostolate's offices will take up a third of the home. Talk about letting go of the branch and trusting in our heavenly Father.

    We sealed the deal shortly after the Feast of the Epiphany and the seller's name? Why Noel of course. How fitting. Talk about a God-incident. That makes it affordable while providing us much more room in this double-wide: two bedrooms, two baths, a covered carport and a sturdy all-weather storage shed as well as a large front porch encompassed with latticework for privacy and an unobstructed view of the canyon to the north from the living room/office windows.

    More importantly it will be a home that can accommodate a motorized wheel chair which will be needed in the future for Cyndi since the discs in her back are disintegrating further and with each passing day it is much more difficult for her to walk more than a few minutes. Even this editor, with 70 just over a year away and diagnosed with COPD, is slowing down as my sciatica and arthritic knees prevent me from kneeling more than a few minutes at a time before the pain shoots down from my hip causing my left leg to be pretty much inoperable.

    Anticipating this reality that age and time are catching up to both of us, it prompted the move to this new home which should be our last move, God willing, and we will be able to eventually put in ramps...if we can afford it...so Cyndi will have mobility in and out of the home, and myself sometime in the future as well. For Cyndi it is coming full circle for she lived with her parents on the west side of the same canyon in the seventies before we were married. In fact, we met near the far south end of Tecolate Canyon where it levels into Mission Valley; we've been living a block from the west bank of the canyon overlooking Sam Snead All American Golf Course; and we will now be overlooking the northeast rim of said canyon. So you might say, as far as the compass goes, that we're moving on up in completing the Tecolate circuit.

    Secondly, though we are grateful to the few who responded to our request for donations to get the DailyCatholic computer and programs back up to date after the tragic crash in November, there have not been enough contributions to keep us publishing daily at this time and right now we are barely breaking even as far as costs. Remember that part about having only $4. left in our checking account? It amazes us that we have been averaging 75,000 to 80,000 visitors a month with one and a half million hits per month over the past year and yet only fourteen, yes 14 people have donated to this apostolate. There is true quality in those benefactors who have been so faithful, but where is the quantity of so many others that would benefit all? It's truly sad that only 14 out of 75,000 responded. It's enough to give up, but I guarantee we won't.

    However, in studying the stats, there was very little difference in number of visits or visitors or hits between the months when we published a daily issue vs. when we publish a monthly such as our 2011 Autumn Hiatus Edition in November. By the way it was midway through that edition on November 17 when the crash wiped out everything including our entire email base and address books, not to mention product keys and passwords making the software we had useless without the keys.

    It has taken longer than we expected to be able to afford the software we need to build our graphics programs back up. And with only 14 people donating, well, you get the picture. We are still $640. short of replacing all the software and hardware we had, because of the priority of securing the home for the reasons above. During this time we have been freeloading, so to speak, by using programs on their fifteen or thirty day trial basis and trying to utilize them as much as possible before the free trials run out by mid-February. Then we're back to square one unless we can purchase said programs for permanent use. Therefore, because of several of these circuмstances, we have no choice but to not return to daily publishing until after Easter Week at the earliest...if donations pick up.

    We come with hat in hand begging our readers to unloosen the purse-strings and donate what you can. As we have said many times, it is very difficult to calculate finances for this apostolate by going month to month on fumes and trust without a set budget. That is why we sincerely ask you to pledge a monthly amount of whatever you can afford. The various levels are available at Give what you can. After all, you can't take it with you. Giving now can gain dividends when it counts in the heavenly court.

    With the move there is a new address for this apostolate and we publish that immediately below and on all pages from henceforth. We don't like having to beg, yet all we can do is ask for your generosity in helping us get back to full steam with The DailyCatholic and assist us in being able to afford the materials and work necessary to make the home handicap ready for Cyndi and enable her to obtain a scooter-type chair.     To use the time-worn idiom, 'Time waits for no man' and time is something more precious to man than money. We should know for funds have been few and far between in our plea to our readers for assistance. But me thinks you realize that by now. As noted above it is the same loyal few who respond while the rest seem to think we have plenty of benefactors and don't need their help. It's called the "why should I have to help?" syndrome that affects so many who don't want to leave their comfort zone.
    Ah, yes, the comfort zone. While it may seem that what we are asking above will make Cyndi more comfortable, in reality it will merely allow her to keep functioning as a person who has willingly accepted all her suffering, something few people can comprehend in this era when suffering is considered a weakness. For her it is a strength that amazes me daily with what she endures for love of Him. Believe me, what she has endured is anything but a "comfort zone."

    For many a comfort zone may seem cozy and safe, but not to God. Think of the stable in Bethlehem. Remember, the faith was not spread by the faithful staying in their comfort zones. Do you think the apostles, saints, martyrs, and missionaries worried about their comfort zones? Not on your life! And it is life that we are solely focused on - eternal life - in bringing you the DailyCatholic for fourteen years (sixteen actually with the Catholic-Internet Network for two years before introducing DailyCatholic on November 1, 1997). We have kept all the old issues on line for one purpose: to show the journey we made from promoting John Paul II on a pedestal to realizing how deceitful and devious he and his predecessors were since the death of Pope Pius XII. We have left this available to show that if we can convert back to tradition, anyone can.

    When we came to that realization only through the grace of God, we felt a responsibility to our readers to correct what we thought was 'Catholic' for it was, is and will forever be our sole intention never to mislead one soul. For that reason we shut everything down and went back to basics, studying every major Council and Papal Decrees from true reliable Popes and compared these with the Vatican II docuмents and realized the sad truth that, indeed, The Great Apostasy had arrived.

    We don't need to tell you it rocked us to the core. We had a choice: to leave our comfort zone, go against the grain and lose 90% of our base and benefactors who considered us crazy to think such conspiratorial thoughts and that if we followed through on attending only the Traditional Latin Mass we would be considered schismatic at best. Since then we know who really is in schism and worse. Yes, we could have caved to personal pressure to abandon such thoughts and stay with the Novus Ordo because of the mantra we had previously bought that "obedience bears the greatest fruits", but we realized that we must obey God, not man; and man had really messed up what God instituted: His one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

    Our decision? A no-brainer. The hell with our comfort zone, there were souls to be saved and we are the last generation who remembers what life and the Faith were before John XIII foisted Aggiornamento into the equation.

    Think about it. What happens when the sons and daughters of the greatest generation pass on. Who will be left to perpetuate the holy Faith? Oh, there are pockets of traditional Catholics who will protect and pass it on to their children, but it will be few and far between. That's the nature of the beast that Vatican II has wrought. And the beast is the devil himself for it is a fulfillment of his 'deal' with God witnessed mystically by Pope Leo XIII that he had 100 years and look what satan has done over that time! Shocking to say the least.

    I mentioned above about my sciatica. It forced me three years ago to forego serving Holy Mass, an honor and blessing I had been able to perform since becoming a Knight of the Altar in third grade at Assumption School in Richfield, Minnesota way back in 1951 when I when I was proud of myself to have learned all the Latin prayers. That pride soon turned to humility for I needed a stool to reach the book on the altar in order to carry it from the Epistle to the Gospel side and back after Communion. A side note I was so small that there were few cassocks that fit me so the fear of tripping was more on my mind than tripping up on the Latin prayers. Ah, the good ol' days when 8 out of 12 families on the block were Catholic and there was a Catholic church every four or five miles apart; when the Church backed the parents and the parents backed and supported the Church. Maybe we were naive in those days, but to my recollection, no one saw what was coming with Vatican II, not in those formative fifties.

    And speaking of the mid-twentieth century, what if someone fell asleep in the 50's and just woke up in 2012? They'd be shocked to their socks. The saddest factor is that we are not shocked by the state of things today. Oh, we don't like it and we may express that, but we seem to accept it as the status quo and just shrug. We should be just as shocked, but we're not. Why? Because we've been numbed and dumbed down.

    What is happening today in the United States already occurred through Vatican II. It's part of the mantra "if we do not learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it." The devil knows this and because lucifer is so clever, so wily, so devious, he knew that Catholics wouldn't stand for what passes as 'Catholic' today in the counterfeit church of conciliarism, also known as newChurch, but to the world is still the Roman Catholic Church. If only it were. Therefore, using the boiled frog plan he slowly introduced changes and novelties, testing the market using false popes - anti-popes and worse, if you will, as his appointed puppets until our consciences would be numbed and we'd come to accept it for 'after all the pope didn't oppose it and whatever the pope said had to be gospel', even infallible to many. Oh, how duped and stupid we were.

    It took us a year to fully realize how far Modernist Rome had veered from Eternal Rome and two more years to acknowledge that the Chair of Peter has been empty (sede vacante) since the death of Pius XII. That was a lot to swallow, but we knew we were right in following the course we have. Damn the torpedoes, we weren't going down with the ship that wasn't the true Barque of Peter. And that ship had sailed on October 9, 1958.

    Thus, even though we knew we would lose many friends and benefactors, we forged ahead on the lonely, narrow path because we realized it was the only path. Not just for us, but for every living Catholic. We decided to place all our findings on line and let the reader decide, stating "don't take our word for it, see what the Church has always taught and you'll see we're right."

    Since that time we are sure of that path more every single day and don't regret one second. Perhaps the only regret we have is that the scales from our eyes weren't opened sooner. That happened on the occasion of our last vacation which occurred in May of 2000 on a pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi and Lourdes where in the healing waters near the Grotto, I was cured of a blood-clot in my leg as well as lymphatic cancer, but more importantly we were given the grace to see the state of the Church that it was no longer THE Church but a Protestant facsimile of which the Holy Ghost has withdrawn His graces and protection. Thus, it should surprise no one when Fr. Josef Ratzinger, (aka Benedict XVI) or his 'cardinals' or 'bishops' or 'priests' do or say something that contradicts Catholic doctrine or scandalizes. It's all synonymous with the house built on sand that is destined to fall. Conversely, the house built on the rock on the hill may have lost its fortress, but the foundation stands and will because, as Christ has promised: "The gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

    That is why we know we are right for, as has been noted so many times on this site, if the conciliar church is Catholic and the men posing as popes are true popes, then truly the gates of hell have prevailed. We won't accept that and neither should you. If you want to remain comfortable in your life, then you're wasting your time on this site and you're wasting your life and we fear you will realize that when it's too late as you're standing before the divine Judge Who will say: "You knew and you did nothing." Do you want that on your eternal epitaph? Or do you want Him to say "Well done, good and faithful servant."?

    Think about it and reflect. With Lent approaching as we observe the Time of Septuagesima, isn't it time to embrace your crosses and willingly follow Jesus daily? That means adhering to all He taught and left to the only Church He instituted on this earth and the tenets passed down through divine revelation and constituted evangelic traditions observed from 33 A.D. up to October 9, 1958. If it was right then, it's right now.





   That is why our theme for 2012 is "Stay True to Tradition" that you'll find at the top of every edition or issue. Know this: God doesn't change. Also remember the words we all pray every day in the Act of Faith, "I believe these and all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived." The very fact we have been deceived proves the church of Vatican II is not the Catholic Church, not the Church Christ instituted upon the Rock of Peter in St. Matthew 16: 18-19.

    That realization necessitates one act on your part: Shake the cobwebs, and please, please, be generous to God and to yourself and escape from your comfort zone.
