This is 51:47 duration; Michael Voris interviews E. Michael Jones
in regards to the roots of Americanism in the Catholic Church,
especially in America.
It's broken into about 4 segments, each of which deal with an
aspect of this theme. It's fast-paced and intense, and it could
easily be expanded to several hours duration, but is here kept
to a summary or highlights version for easy consumption.
It boils down to John Courtney Murray and the acceptability of
the work he did starting in 1960 to undermine Catholicism in this
country. Murray was not only the principal author of Dignitatis
Humanae but also the key player in all the worst interpretations
of DH post Vat.II, such that the most pernicious effects have
been drawn from it in the form of false ecuмenism and deplorable
dialogue and religious indifferentism and moral duplicity.
Knights of Columbus who used to require members to be
"practicing Catholics" redefined themselves, via a docuмent Jones
holds up to ridicule, as "practical Catholics" - and what is that,
exactly? -he asks. "What, you don't spend too much money?
You take the bus? What is it? Who knows?"
19 years ago, Jones dealt with the 'Knights' who were at that
time defending pro-abortion politicians, and he says it's now
grown and developed into 'Knights' who defend pro-sodomite
politics and its promoters. It's all bad, basically. He says that as
a journalist he has to take on the bad news because journalists
never cover stories about planes that land safely. They only
cover plane crashes.
This is worth listening to twice IMHO. Anyone who is already
familiar with these names, dates, titles of docuмents, headlines,
characters, issues an principles might get away with one listen,
but I expect most of us are not that well-versed in it. There is
a lot of information here, and a lot of things you don't ever hear
expressed all in one place.
Jones fields a curve ball from Voris on anti-Semitism and takes
it as an easy lob right down his alley. He dispatches the topic
for the false distinction that it is. Jones basically puts it into our
current vernacular under the explanation of St. Augustine, as
the two cities - the one that accepts Our Lord and the one that
rejects Him in favor of Barabbas. It's as simple as that.
Not a word here regarding the crisis in the SSPX, and it would
seem that these two, Voris and Jones, might be ill-prepared to
handle the subject. They're concerned with 'larger' issues, but
we on CI know that these are not unrelated themes. For you
would not have GREC or the Re-Branding project taking root in
fertile soil if it were not for the widespread acceptance of the
work of John Courtney Murray and the Knights of Columbus
that effectively 'fertilized' it beforehand!
It seems to me that the common theme is an undercurrent of a
concern for respectability, and this is at the root of the agenda
of the Menzingen-denizens who desire to be 'respectable' in the
eyes of modernist Rome.
There is unquestionably a lot to think about here. You will not
waste your time paying close attention to it.
