  • With Francis' recent comments regarding redemption and the subsequent Vatican correction (if it can be called that), his tendency to speak off the cuff, the Vatican's decision to not publish his comments from his morning "Masses," and his overall "man of the people" style, does the Vatican have a huge problem on its hands? He's a modernist for sure, but if he continues to go "off script" too much, he's going to cause even conciliarists to question his orthodoxy. Does anyone expect to see his handlers perhaps start to attempt to control him or do they have a nightmare on their hands?
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

I've already seen a few comments to that effect, that he reminds some of Paul VI.

  • Is there anything specifically Pope Francis said that you are referring to?

  • As to the whole "redemption" vs "salvation" kerfuffle, I'll give you some of my own thoughts:

Although I perceive the Chair of St. Peter vacant, I will give "Francis" his due.  What he spoke of about redemption is quite true, although any basic classical protestant child would have been taught the same thing.

Protestantism and "Novus Ordoism" is obsessed with spiritual INFANTILISM.  The concept of Sin, Salvation, Merits, Penance, etc. has no meaning at all - NOTHING!.  The followers of these two heretical religions are completely stumped and dumb-founded at the concept of our subornation to God Almighty in today's world.   Belief in girly cherubs, "our Pal and buddy, Jesus", fellowship with other human beings takes priority.  This is THE RELIGION OF MAN.  Man is Supreme. Man IS GOD!  This is the belief and the FAITH of the man and person who currently occupies the Holy Throne of Saint Peter today -  all the way down to the poor pathetic modernist Novus Ordo layman who thinks he's destined for a one way ticket to Heaven just for being a so-called "good person".

Pray for these poor pathetic human beings.  May God have mercy upon their souls.

I've seen him compared more to "Good Pope John" (bleh!) than Montini.  There has even been speculation about him calling a "Vatican III" to re-affirm the last one.  And recall the dubbing of Roncali as "Montini's battering ram" by Bellegrandi - I get the weird feeling Bergoglio is paving the way for another man.  Maybe it's Bertone, maybe it's somebody else.  But I don't think we're going to think of him fifty years from now without reference to his successor.

Nothing to add, just thought this was an excellent analysis.
