  • One day at work this week I got into a discussion with a temp and he was telling me how we should all work together and he was telling me about some of the more common beliefs of several religions. I said to him,
    Quote
“The majority of Religions do not have the most main thing in common with me. These religions are not the Church Jesus Christ himself established and Jesus Christ only founded one Church denomination and all these other denominations are not of Christ.”
    [/b][/size]

After I told This temp that Jesus founded one Church, this temp did not even bother to ask me what Church was the one Jesus established. This proves to me he knows the Church Jesus established and he just doesn't like it.

Is it possible, most adults know that Jesus established the Catholic Church?

  • I believe that most adults who have even a modest understanding of Christianity know that the Catholic Church is the only Church that claims this (though, it should be noted that the Orthodox are also of Apostolic origin, though they defected at some point).  But I'm not sure if it can be said that most adults in general have this knowledge because I'm not sure if most adults in general actually have even a modest understanding of Christianity.

Certainly, if one is having a rational discussion about Christianity, then it is probable that those involved in the conversation have this knowledge even if they, as you say, don't like it.

No, most adults with any degree of education remotely recognise the Catholic Church as the first formally organised form of "Christianity," but most as easily accept Jesus Christ as the founder of most Protestant and other "forms" that claim to worship Christ.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • I ran into a lady who told me that all she has to do is believe in christ and she is saved.  We have heard that before.  I tell them, if that be the case, then Christ came in vain and shed is blood in vain.  St. Paul himself said this as well.  We are catholic, because Our Faith tells us that we can not enter heaven without the Blood of the Lamb.

  • Whoever really wishes to know the only Church that Christ founded will, without doubt, be drawn to the Catholic Church, by an angel's hand if necessary. Those who die not knowing is because God foresaw their will and knew they would not accept His Grace. Most people really do not want to know the Truth since that would mean a total renouncement of sinful ways and a conscious act of responsibility towards God at all times.

"For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands all the thoughts of minds. If you seek Him, you shall find Him, but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever" (Chronicles 28:9).
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.
