Effective immediately, threads on free masonry are banned until further notice.

An opportunity was given to discuss Free Masonry. Some members abused it by posting links to their sites or endorsing it as appropriate for Catholics. Such posts are inappropriate. Therefore, they are not allowed.

Anyone who violates this rule will be "counseled". After that, I may choose to take other measures. If you have questions, shoot me a PM.

This is not a voluntary moratorium.

  • I guess Leo XIII's Encyclical on Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ has been banned then.

  • You've got that right, Myrna.  That place is worse than ever.  They're a disgrace.

  • When I first saw the title of this thread, I, too, was riled about it.  But the explanation proffered sounds like a good reason to ban it.  I suppose the posting of links to their sites could have been banned.  But there are weak-willed (had to pause and think of a more pc way of saying weak-minded, but that too though) people who will be erroneously influenced to their detriment by such discussion as why it's ok for Catholics to join, etc.  And CAF has an even broader cross-section than CathInfo to be exposed, many with modernist leanings already, who may then join, or go and run the idea by a modernist priest and then join.

My logic that Classiccom should have been banned was based primarily on who may unwittingly happen upon his posts and be swayed.  This is consistent with why I would applaud CAF's efforts to limit Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ discussion if their stated purpose is sincere.  Whether they are sincere in their stated purpose is another matter about which I am not familiar with CAF enough to have an opinion.

How can you applaud the refusal to discuss a real issue that most priests refuse to discuss?

Those who promote the compatibility of Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ and Catholicism should be banned, not those who discuss Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ.

  • This shows that the moderators at CAF don't think logically when it comes to these types of things. Wouldn't it have made more sense to ban those who made posts endorsing Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ instead of just banning topics on the subject all-together? The mod there who had me banned claimed right before he banned me that I told him "Hey, I can't comtempt Catholicism if I'm Catholic". First of all I never "comtempted" Catholicism, I bashed Vatican II and the modernists there could not handle it, and I never said anything like that to him. I was given an infraction and I simply asked him why I was given one. The point I'm trying to make? The mods there ban people and topics for the wrong reasons. CAF is really turning into a more modernist version of AQ due to discussions of certain topics being "banned".
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.
