I am not pessimistic, I do not feel hopeless, nor do I have a dismal attitude toward the Holy Catholic Church - I never have and I never will.
Are you implying that the Catholic Church needs to be restored?
......
Cantarella, there is nothing wrong with the Catholic Church. The belief that there is something wrong with the Catholic Church is naive and misguided.
What, exactly, are we supposed to "resist" within the Catholic Church?
I understand what you mean. The Church is the Bride of Christ and therefore, perfect. The Church triumphant, that is; but in the Church Militant (on earth) there are always heresies to defeat and visible and invisible enemies to fight against. There is a distinct
divine and human component within the Church. There have and ever will be revolutions that upset the Christian order established by God. Furthermore, the Church on earth is composed by fallible humans and it is in this human's component, where there are possibilities of error because well, human beings are damned with original sin, weighted down with many faults and subjects to temptations, passions and pride.
At present time, the heresy to combat is Modernism. That is the whole reason behind Traditional Catholicism. If there is nothing to restore in the Church, then there is absolutely no reason for the SSPX or any other traditional group to even exist. If there is nothing in the Church to restore, why do you attend a SSPX chapel?; unless you think that the SSPX IS THE CHURCH, perfect and spotless, outside of it there is no salvation. The Church hierarchy has been infiltrated by Enemies who want to oppress Her while a тαℓмυdic subjugation has really occurred and continue doing so to this very day. You cannot deny that.
Anyway, as st Paul teaches heresies will always be necessary, so the elect can merit by combating it. For this reason alone, true soldiers of Christ are engaged in an everlasting battle against visible and invisible enemies of the Church (inside and outside Her) ever working towards restoration to the proper Christian order. Now, the Church does have power on her own, which the parasites that infest her will never be able to completely extinguish. We have the promise that the Church will never be defeated, yes She can be extremely laboring, (such as in times of Arianism) but far from dead.
