So much focus on validity, the orthodox have valid bishops and they aren’t Catholic.
All THUC bishops today are sedevacantist or some sort of flavour, sedevacantism is a great error and not a son of the great Archbishop Lefebvre.
Stay away from these THUC bishops, you and I today can decide we want to become a priest and absolutely find some THUC bishop to make us a priest in someone’s garage.
This is very much to the point, Maverick. Yet all it got was 8 down votes. We can see who is reading this thread. Is this really a Resistance forum? Probably this is just not a topic of interest for most Resistance supporters.
It is clear that God raised up a great apostle in this hour of crisis in His Church in Archbishop Lefebvre.
It is equally clear that all Thuc-line bishops (?) raised themselves up, and they did so in rebellion against this great archbishop raised up by God.
Undoubtedly Archbishop Thuc was a good man, but he did not see and act clearly in the crisis as did Archbishop Lefebvre, and he allowed himself to be too easily influenced by self-appointed saviours of the Church.
That is enough reason for me to avoid these sedevacantist groups.
But what if you are in a position, like a former prominent poster on this forum, where there is no other option for the sacraments, or an equally doubtful one? Each has to make his own decision, but from everything that I have read and seen, including the video posted by those trying to prove that Archbishop Thuc was in full possession of his faculties, I conclude that there is doubt, and I could not in conscience frequent the sacraments administered by bishops and priests in this line. I hope and pray that the sacraments are valid, and I would think they most probably are, but that doesn't remove the doubt which in my opinion only the Church can do in better times.
