In our own time we can clearly see the image of Holy Wisdom deserting the visible Church. When Pope Francis said, in one of his many “unofficial” pronouncements, delivered on July 21, 2013 in St. Peter’s Square, “A prayer that does not lead you to practical action for your brother—the poor, the sick, those in need of help, a brother in difficulty—is a sterile and incomplete prayer,” he came near to invalidating the entire contemplative tradition of Christianity—it being abundantly clear that he does not regard prayer as any kind of “practical action” in itself—as well as directly contradicting the teaching of Jesus Christ in Luke 10:41-42
I have only read this far
But it doesn't surprise me Pope Francis is against or comes across as being against contemplative prayer. If he spent more time praying in that way he wouldn't be so... un-Catholic
I'm not sure i want to finish reading this post, although I probably will copy/paste and do so
I am just so tired of "francis"
no capital F for him... LOL
I pray for him though
