No. Who is the subject of the command? In Galatians 1 it says treat as "anathema" anyone who preaches another Gospel. It has reference to you, I and all Christians, not to the person preaching another Gospel. We are to treat them as "anathema."

In St. John's second letter, he says the same thing a bit differently:

2 John 10-11  If any man come to you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into the house nor say to him, God speed you. For he that saith unto him, God speed you, communicateth with his wicked works.

No true pope is "anathema" to Catholics and the Catholic Church.

Subject, object? The point is, the command is to us to treat the false Gospel speaker anathema.

We agree.

We treat the false Gospel speakers with anathema, this we do whether it be you, I, St. Paul himself, an angel from heaven, or  priests, bishops or popes speaking a false Gospel. Which for our part, anathema means that we are not to listen to them.

You people are so retarded.

Nobody has the place to start excommunicating people. No lay person anyway.

It's not you job , prideful fools, to start deciding whether the pope is the pope. Your job is to keep the faithful, shut your mouth, and get to heaven

Being interested in psychology I always wonder what it is that leads people to do silly stupid immoral things.

It does truly break my heart to see people like this therefore, and I want to help them.

Your immense charity is palpable through the computer screen!

As for your own silly/stupid/immoral words, actions, etc., what leads/inspires you to inflict them upon the rest of us on such a frequent basis?
