  • In a keynote address at the convention of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), Sister Ilia Delio said that to understand faith, “we have to think in terms of cosmology.”

Sister Delio, a visiting professor at Georgetown and follower of Teilhard de Chardin, spoke on “Religious Life on the Edge of the Universe.” She said:

God is within and up ahead — not above. God is the power of the future.
The LCWR is undergoing a Vatican-mandated period of reform after the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith found serious theological problems with the organization. Among the complaints cited by the Vatican after an investigation of the group was the heterodox presentations by speakers at LCWR conventions.

What does cosmology have to do with religous life? or Christianity for that matter?

  • I used to be into astrology, got a big book on it. There is lots of maths in it where you calculate exactly the influence of passing asteroids like Chiron and the angle of the planets and the shape they make on your birth chart.

    ITS ALL RUBBISH.
but, it sometimes appears really accurate.
BUT if you cancel out the assumption that you are looking into the future and
see that it is also inaccurate most of the time, you conclude its rubbish.

So can you see why there needed to be an intervention at teh LCWR?

Would the Vatican authorities really be a positive influence on this group?
Where do you think they got their poison from?
"Pope francis" is not the sort of person who would condemn liberalism, hed probably make it worse.

One thing I hate about these liberal nuns and male groups as well, is that they want to be part of the establishment just to change it and make it even more liberal.
But now there is nothing left to change, its just like a secular organisation.
The church is not continued in the Vatican 2 sect.

They got their poison by deliberately rejecting and contradicting the pope. When the Vatican announced their intervention many people asked the question, "What took them so long?"

They got their poison by rejecting Catholicism and following the world.  So, in a way, they got their poison by following Vatican II.
