  • I suppose many of you have seen the latest, Consecrated Virgins no longer need to be virgins to be consecratesd Virgins.

    https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/vatican-consecrated-virgins-no-longer-have-to-be-virgins

On radio yesterday I heard the representative of the American Order of Consecrated Virgins discussing the latest farce to come out of Modernist Rome. She explained Consecrated Virgins are laywomen, in jobs and living like we all do, who are and pledge themselves to remain Virgins for God. She was a wonderful Catholic who did her best to try to understand how a non-virgin could be consecrated a virgin.

Its called MODERNISING virginity. You couldn't make it up, could you?

  • I am sorry but this is feminist inspired insanity.

Of course a Consecrated Virgin must be just that - a virgin.

  • I think the focus should be on the virtue of chastity. What good is it to say "Oh I am a virgin! virginity virginity!!!" if the source of your virtue is the lack of opportunity for doing bad?

The source for this inanity is the тαℓмυd, the same source for partial birth abortion BTW.
(Where a pre-born child does not become "human" until his head emerges from the birth
canal, consequently the killing of the child in partial birth abortion occurs while the child's head
is still inside his mother's body, and they say "it" was not a child yet, so it wasn't "killing.")

In the тαℓмυd, a Jєω (often times a rabbi) can sɛҳuąƖly molest a girl, and so long as the girl is less than 2 years old (as I recall -- maybe it's 3) the girl will still be a "virgin" when she recovers and grows older.
The тαℓмυd is the source of many vile and depraved ideas many of which are much worse than this.
It is a really disgusting set of writings.
There are at least two versions of it, so if you go to your public library, don't expect to find the really bad version there.
And if you ask the librarian about the other version, they won't be able to answer your request because they don't have one listed.

The spokeswoman for the American Consecrated Virgins did say that chastity was another way to serve God and many had taken that vow, both male and female outsuide becoming a nun or a priest.

However virginity has a special place in the ways of God and that is why the Blessed Virgin Mary is referred to as such. Apply you remark above to Mary's virginity and it would amount to blasphemy.

I apply that remark in general.

Absolutely right Chastity is a virtue and an expression of service to God.
But virginity is a distinct and special state which for a Consecrated Virgin  is a statement of symbolic marriage to Christ.
