    • Somehow -- don't ask me how -- I got on the e-mail list of an antipope. He only refers to himself as "The Apostolic See".

    I won't give you his whole tirade, but here is a sample of it:


    We must Sorrowfully Conclude that Pius IX and all later Popes are Heretics

    Woe to the world!  For this apostasy has been upon the world since 1846.  The Antichrist was born in 1863!  The abomination has existed since 1969, which is the end of the holy sacrifice!   The apostasy has persisted since 1846.  This confirms the prophecy given to Melanie at La Salette.

    First, we must note that the last code of canon law is invalid.

    ...

    Therefore we condemn and reprobate Pius IX and Benedict XV as heretics.

     Sounds about right to me. If Lee Iacocca were running the show he would have issued an "infalliblity" recall on all those post 1870 Club Infallible Catholics. No brakes when you see apostasy road hazards all around you.
     
      A spokesman for Club Infallible denied any responsibility for all the crashes and has pointed out individual driver error as the problem. If everyone would just cooperate with the NWO driving template .... . YOu know the rest of the story.

    I wish this argument about popes would just STOP already. It's freakin' annoying.

    It is the fruit of the sedevacantist spirit.  When one accepts this spirit, it takes great effort to fight against its deteriorating effects on the mind and heart.  Many men succuмb to the madness of perverse usurpation of judgment.

    • Caminus, I think you make many fine points, and express them beautifully.  I sort of agree with your above post, but I don't think it's fair to all SVs.

    I think this type of straining gnats happens in many groups, but I admit that it is extreme.  I wish they'd put that energy into fighting child abuse or abortion and euthanasia!  Imagine the great work for Our Lord, done by such bright and determined people!

    • OK, Caminus, if you can explain what is the spirit of sedevacantism?  

    I am not certain that I can define the spirit of this theory, but it deserves looking at.  

    Is sedevacantism a cause or an effect?   (not that I can argue logic, but I am willing to pray and ponder over it).

    And Antipope Augustine has proven himself to be a liar.  He claimed to believe he was the pope, and then he did an about face and admitted he was a Protestant.

    He is very dangerous.

    • The only time in history during which the Chair of Peter was actually vacant in the sense of the 'sede vacantist' theory was between the death of St Celestine in 1296 and the election of Benedict in 1303. I cannot figure out who was the true Pope at that time.

      Dangerous if your faith is based on the tenets of Club Infallible. True faith has a solid foundation - Christ. The words of Christ in scripture, Catholic tradition and also prayer.

       Even though this guy is probably insane, he does understand cause and effect. For traditionalists to be fixated on VII explains some of the "I never knew you"  judgment of the wacko pseudo Christians.

       Please don't take offense. You guys are my favorite wacko's .
