Title: Comparing the Crisis to the Crucifixion
Post by: St Giles on September 08, 2025, 10:55:06 AM
What comparisons can be made between the Crucifixion and the crisis in the church? I want to hear your thoughts on the matter.

The Vicar of Christ suffering the effects of the sins of the Church, such that he doesn't appear to be the true Vicar of Christ? And yet there is no other.

Will he soon die as in no more popes? The papacy destroyed for a short while until its resurrection shortly after? Then a relatively short while (a few decades) of rebuilding until the end of the world and the ascension of the Church into heaven?

Arch. Marcel Lefebvre   Ordinations 1982
https://laportelatine.org/formation/mgr-lefebvre/textes/sermon-de-mgr-lefebvre-ordinations-sacerdotales-29-juin-1982

Audio in French, intense delivery!
La Passion de l'Eglise.

He first mentions how evil and errors have entered the Church...
Then : "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?
Now Catholics are, in different speech, repeating the substance of those words...looks like Church is abandoned by God.

Then, major reactions = the Church is divine, it cannot be in error...
Or those who say that the Church, because of all the scandals, no longer exists.

Then the scandal of those who refused to believe the DIVINITY of Christ. [IF Christ suffered, then he would not be God, heretics say]
Then those who scandalize when they reject the reality of our Lord,'s PASSION, it was only "appearances".

Because we have no pope, I have to say, in my opinion we are in Latter times.  The demons were given 100 years and again my opinion that it started when Pope Pius did not consecrate Russia. (1930 about).  Our Lady said, that the pope did not heed the request of God, through Her. He would be like King Louis XIV who did not consecrate France to the Sacred Heart.  He was dethroned. Also beheaded.  Pope lost his authority in his pontificate and left the Church beheaded.

We will go to the crucifixion as Christ, for the Church Triumphant at the end of the 100 years.  A time of peace is to follow.  Our Lady will reign Her Immaculate Heart to be established.
The Bible reveals the continual Mass will cease or nearly cease, Chpt. 12 of Daniel. And tribulations, so many.  St. Theresa of the Way was said to have said, she would have liked to live in these times.  So, I to would like to know more about this.  Cardinal Manning did write some lectures on this.  One being in a book, The Present Crisis in the Holy See.  Cost $10.  Cardinal Manning and Pope Leo XIII had talks on this.  Pope Leo XIII saw Satan and Christ have it out with each other, 1874? Talks like, " nomination and election for pope has its definition, must be Catholic, is one.  nomination and election is somewhat infallible ( did not explain). But can a pope go wrong in his pontificate which they both agreed on, yes, they can."

Are we talking about St Thérese of the Child Jesus?

If that's her, then the following article explains that she had read a book about the  "Last Times", and was a tremendous influence, esp the virtue of confidence and hope. Sweet reading!

Here’s what the Little Flower — the “most dangerous” of the saints — believed about the endtimes. Who could describe as “sweet” the reading of a book that gives an account of the rise of the Anti-Christ, the tribulations that will mark the end times, followed by meditations on death, judgment, Heaven and Hell? “Reading this book was one of the greatest graces of my life …The impression I received from it is too sweet to express. All the great truths of religion and the mysteries of eternity plunged into my soul a happiness not of this earth.”

So wrote Saint Thérèse in her autobiography about End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life, a book she cherished for preparing her for the trials of monastic life as well as ...

St Teresa of the Child Jesus, pray for Pope Leo XIV - pray for us to live soul ly for our Almighty God +

Old Angelus magazines should have the translations. I might have some. Actually the 1st page of a 1981 copy prompted me to start this thread.
