One point here real quick:

You cannot remarry if you have a valid marriage and your spouse still lives.

So Cardinal Kasper's statement is heretical.

If you remarry under those circuмstances then the marriage is not valid and so does not exist.

This man is a Prince of the Church and cannot see he is advocating receiving God in Adultery?

Oh wait, he does see it and doesn't care. This is Apostasy. He needs prayers for his soul.

This does not go back to tradition, doctrine, dogma, council, opinion.

This goes back to the Gospel with Jesus as it's source. Jesus instituted the sacrament of marriage.

And Germany is the source of female altar servers and that slippery slope.

We still have a pope and cardinals and bishops and all. Everything's going just fine.

Don't worry about the Vatican crossing any "lines in sand" or anything, we can always move the lines when it becomes necessary. Just remember, whatever you do, don't be a sedevacantist because they are the real problem.

Everything in the novus ordo church is so muddled and murky with leaders saying contradictory things. And hidden under the chaos you will find a handful of openly heretical statements by the post-Vatican II popes and their chosen leaders.

Has the Vatican II church given us a leader who isn't cringe-worthy?

So far, the leaders are either beyond the shadow of the doub wicked like Cardinal Mahony, Cardinal Bernardin and Archbishop Weakland or outright laughable with contempt like Cardinal Dolan. Creepy like Cardinal George or Cardinal Wuerl.

Where are the St. Francis de Sales of the novus ordo?

I guess someone somewhere in a position of supernatural authority hit the "off" button.

An objectively false appeal to mercy also runs the risk of trivializing the image of God, by implying that God cannot do other than forgive. The mystery of God includes not only his mercy but also his holiness and his justice.

If one were to suppress these characteristics of God and refuse to take sin seriously, ultimately it would not even be possible to bring God’s mercy to man.

Jesus encountered the adulteress with great compassion, but he said to her “Go and do not sin again” (Jn 8:11). God’s mercy does not dispense us from following his commandments or the rules of the Church.

Rather it supplies us with the grace and strength needed to fulfill them, to pick ourselves up after a fall, and to live life in its fullness according to the image of our heavenly Father.
