Report: Church Militant loses defamation suit: (https://religionnews.com/2024/03/01/report-church-militant-loses-defamation-suit/)
The law firm for the priest who sued the outlet says Church Militant will cease publication at the end of April.
"....In that dispute, the Diocese of Manchester had accused the Saint Benedict Center in Richmond, New Hampshire, of violating canon law, according to Todd & Weld. The Saint Benedict Center and its members, who call themselves, Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, had promoted the position held by their founder, a Jesuit priest named Leonard Feeney, that salvation is only possible through the Catholic Church.
Feeney, who died in 1978, was excommunicated for this view, thought he was later reconciled to the church.
The Southern Poverty Law Center also added (https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/intelligence-report/2007/12-anti-semitic-radical-traditionalist-catholic-groups?page=0%2C4) the center to a list of hate groups in 2007 for its members’ antisemitic beliefs...."
God gives the world yet another reminder.

Good riddance.

I predicted their downfall about a year ago now, given the malice they've shown toward Traditional Catholicism, and their slanders against (some) good Traditional priests (despite being accurate on others), where they even slandered Archbishop Lefebvre at one point, claiming he had been knowingly ordaining sodomites. Also about a year ago, I called out that I noticed a disturbing/perverted look on Voris' countenance, suggesting he was back into his sodomy ... and I was spot on. I was mocked for that observation at the time.

Something about MV always seemed just a bit "off", but when he came clean about his sodomite past, and offered public penitence, I was willing to take him at his word, and give him the benefit of the doubt.
Sadly, though, as they say in the fundamentalist South, he "backslid". Did he ever.

You were spot on. And you weren't the only one. I think Ann Barnhardt started saying Voris was spiraling out of control several years ago as well, and she was certain he was going to crash and burn. It took a lot longer than I expected, honestly, but as they say ... all good things come to him who waits! :laugh1:

I think he had spiralled long before it became public, so it just took longer to become public, not to actually happen.

The issue is a penitent sodomite becoming a public teacher, a de-facto DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH. Teaching the Church faithful, the Church militant, being a spokesperson, having a louder/larger voice than the average layperson.
THAT is the problem.
Forgive them? sure. Give them the benefit of the doubt? Sure. Be charitable? Of course. But you don't put them in a high teaching position of power, nor do you have them run your Boy Scout troupe! It's simply NOT PRUDENT.
Not everyone has a right to be a teacher. Not everyone has a right to run a boy scout troupe. Not everyone has a right to be in charge of finances. But if you're a repentant sodomite, thief, etc. you need to accept, AS PART OF YOUR PENANCE, that you no longer can expect to be trusted with those roles. And that shouldn't bother you. IF you are truly penitent.

Yes, I have said this on here so many times, and some idiot responded with, "But wasn't St. Augustine a public sinner before he became a Doctor of the Church?"
Um, Voris isn't St. Augustine(!!!). This is a general principle, and general principles apply to Voris.
St. Augustine was a saint -- someone whose entire life was a miracle of vlrtue. You can't make any argument based on a miracle, even a moral miracle.
That argument is like if I said, "In the Middle Ages, the earth drew all physical objects to itself by an unseen force." And someone responds, "Nah, that's ridiculous. There was this person named St. Joseph of Cupertino who floated in the air all the time back then, and he must have weighed well over a hundred pounds."

Good metaphor. I've said this before, that I was happy for Voris if he had left his sinful life behind, but I still wouldn't send my sons over there to his house for a sleepover. And also that he had absolutely NO business making himself a (if not arguably THE) face of conservative quasi-Trad Catholicism, excoriating people over ... permitting sodomy.

.
Well, Voris himself KNOWINGLY hired a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ to RUN Church Militant!:facepalm::facepalm:

I think today's Boy Scouts would welcome him with open arms.

About time. Like the world serpent of Norse mythology, it seems as though they were destined to destroy themselves.

Hypocritical.
