Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, Bacon, De Vere and James all believed that Sun rev around the Earth. CM does not get it yet.

Luther and Calvin also believed Jesus Christ is God and man.  Is this wrong because he believed it, Roscoe?

Hmmmm.... CM defending Luther and Calvin( who lied when they said they believed Jesus to be God and man)-- Jansenism anyone?

  • The point is that just because a couple of heretics believed something doesn't mean that it is wrong.

I am not very appreciative of your willful obfuscation of my intention in saying this.  Don't be a hypocrite:

So, roscoe, you like to just randomly plop down links to satanic websites?  Do you frequent this site or something?  Trust it?  Are you aware of what it teaches?? ...

Don't leave me hanging roscoe.  What gives?

Give the Devil his due-- he doesn't get everything wrong.

  • I am not very appreciative of how U pulled a bait and switch during the Pius X/ anti-popes discussion. It shows U are disingenuous. It reminds me of Mr Hiembichner's tactics when attempting to prove a point re: Card Rampolla-- when U go to the source he says proves his point it doesn't even say what he says it does.

  • No sense in repeating myself-- the answer to your question has been given.

Your overall philososphy seems to be that if the Earth rev around the sun then St Robert is somehow a 'BoD heretic'.

  • CM is a legalist after the fashion of a Melchoir Cano, who( unlike Fr Feeney) WAS  called to Rome eventually re: his continued obstinate opposition to St Ignatius.

  • I speak plainly and am not afraid to answer questions directly.

Legalist?  Explain exactly what you mean by legalism.  Unless you mean strict adherence and refusal to believe any proposition contrary to those irreformable definitions, to recede from which one is not a Catholic (cf. Leo XIII, Satis Cognitum), in which case, you have no case.

As for Cano, he encouraged disobedience to the Holy See.  I constantly and repetitiously say that we are FORBIDDEN to disobey the Holy See.  Your comparison is a fallacy.

A serious convert will stand fast, expecting death and God will MIGHTILY SMITE THE OPPRESSOR.

    My 2 cents.

It is a mortal sin to expect God to go out of ordinary means just for you.

  • Very good, but when did I advocate such an attitude.

I said that the person would stand their ground expecting death.  Note that I didn't say they would expect a miracle.  The reason I suggested that God would smite the oppressor is for the very reason that I believe God's mercy does not force His creatures to choose between hell and hell.

However, if such a choice were to be placed upon one of His creatures, no doubt it is because that same creature had disdained God's mercy.

    Case in point: Voltaire.
