I do NOT purge all posts when a member is banned. Sometimes I'll trim/moderate/delete the last few -- when they went off on me and/or CathInfo for example. But in general, for every month a member was behaving, in good standing, those posts will always stay.
I was NOT aware of this man's anti-Lefebvre rhetoric. Shows how closely I moderate the forum, I know. WHEN IN DOUBT, PLEASE REPORT THINGS LIKE THIS. I only found out yesterday because of some friendly moderator reports.
Not all topics interest me, and I don't have time to click on all of them. I have a threshold, below which I just don't care, don't click, don't investigate. Why is that? Probably because I have a full time job, and when I'm home I have tons of things to do, maintain, and take care of: I have a wife and 9 kids, 5 acres, multiple buildings, multiple gardens, about 18 fruit trees, multiple vehicles, a chapel, a popular forum, and a webserver. I have so much going on I'll NEVER be bored.
A co-worker recently told me he was planning to play video games all weekend, because his girlfriend was out of town. He is about 25 years old, single, and owns a small house (cabin?) on some family property. I can't conceive of such a lifestyle devoid of responsibility and maturity. I can conceive it, but only because I have a GREAT imagination. I could imagine living life on an asteroid too. But seriously, his lifestyle is as foreign to me as living in the 1700s, or living in a poor village in Africa. Completely different from anything I can easily imagine or relate to.
P.S. The current CathInfo software DOES remove banned members from the main, public-facing Members list, as well as remove them from the current member count. I didn't ask for this, and frankly I would prefer the software leave the member in the listing AND the member count, like all other forum software in existence. But c'est la vie.
