Didn't a branch in the Vatican, one established by Paul VI, openly call for a world organization to control the economy? I wouldn't get carried away by this.
As for the above post, it sounds more like the Vatican was being prudent by omitting words that may be misunderstood. The great popes of the past always spoke of a properly ordered world and we know they didn't mean the centralized bureaucracy from some distant headquarters.
