Our of Cardinal Roche

Excerpt from an interview with Cardinal Arthur Roche, Prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship, at The Tablet:

Interviewer: “I promised (...) cardinal that we would not spend all our time dissecting thorny liturgical questions. But we cannot completely evade them. Will Pope Leo give as much importance as Pope Francis did to the limitation of the celebration of the Tridentine Mass?

Cardinal Roche: “Well, let me say first of all that it is a very complex area. It is also a crucial area, because the Eucharist is the sacrament of unity: it is the place where we should all be able to gather to celebrate Mass. If it starts to divide us, it is that something is wrong... But no, Pope Leo will not modify Traditionis Custodes and will not return to Summorum Pontificuм.

Notice the Novus Ordo focus on "unity", as part of their view of the Mass.

But Pope St. Pius X said:
"The Holy Mass is a prayer itself, even the highest prayer that exists. It is the Sacrifice, dedicated by our Redeemer at the Cross, and repeated every day on the Altar. If you wish to hear Mass as it should be heard, you must follow with the eye, heart and mouth all that happens at the Altar. Further you must pray with the Priest the holy words said by him in the Name of Christ and which Christ says by him. You have to associate your heart with the holy feelings which are contained in these words and in this manner you ought to follow all that happens at the Altar. When acting in this way you have prayed Holy Mass."

~Pope Saint Pius X
