  • The information so far is in Spanish, 1P5 may have something soon (?).

After the meeting of the "Council of Cardinals" on 2-13-17 the rumor is that C. Muller resigned. C. Muller had given the interview defending dogma which had angered Francis. The Holy See Press Office has the declaration of the 9 cardinals (in part?). Doesn't say much but is very revealing.

Quote from: Declaration of the Council of the Cardinals, 13.02.17
Declaration of the Council of Cardinals, 13.02.2017

The Council of Cardinals began its eighteenth session today.

At the beginning, Cardinal Oscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, coordinator of the group, after greeting the Holy Father, thanked him on behalf of all the Members for his words in the Christmas address to the Roman Curia on 22 December 2016, acknowledging his encouragement and guidance for the work of the Council.

In relation to recent events, the Council of Cardinals pledges its full support for the Pope’s work, assuring him at the same time of its adhesion and loyalty to the figure of the Pope and to his Magisterium (emphasis mine).

Those who understand the infamous last paragraph of the "Profession of Faith" and "Oath of Fidelity to the Pope" (the non-negotiable) Doctrinal Preamble know what the cardinals are saying. They (C9) and Francis, expect the same of Cardinal Muller and will see that he resigns or give submission of mind and will to the "authorized magisterium" heresies, rather than God.

  • It seems the rumor is true. Cardinal Muller resigned on the same day the C9 wrote their Declaration of "adhesion and loyalty to the figure of the Pope and to his [authentic] Magisterium". That is, the 9 cardinals will obey Francis rather than God. Cardinal Muller jumped ship!  While +Fellay is getting ready to  board it.

Tagle to replace Müller as CDF Prefect?

To the recent reports from other sources that Cardinal Müller has already offered his resignation from CDF, Rorate can now add, from its own very well-placed sources, that there is a plan at the highest levels to replace Müller as Prefect of CDF with no less than the Asian "Pope Francis", the man seen by many as Francis' dauphin, Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle.

Müller, appointed Prefect in July 2012, has been effectively marginalized in the past years over the Family Synods and most importantly over Amoris Laetitia. Questions about his future in the Roman Curia have been persistent through the years. It remains to be seen whether he will eventually be sent back to Germany to take the still-vacant see of Mainz (traditionally a red-hat see), or be tossed to a ceremonial position, or whether, like Stanis?aw Cardinal Ry?ko last year, he will simply be retired long before turning 75.

Tagle's own theological oeuvre is very thin and his academic reputation rests mainly on the essays he wrote as part of the Bologna School's History of Vatican II. It is his slick promotion by the mainstream Catholic media, his reliably progressivist views (couched in "moderate" language) coupled with his stint at the International Theological Commission and the patronage he received from Joseph Ratzinger, first as CDF Prefect then as Pope, that have combined to give him an aura of learning far beyond what is supported by his real output. His election as President of both the Catholic Biblical Federation (in 2014) and Caritas International (in 2015) and his designation as one of three Delegate Presidents of the Extraordinary Synod of 2014 further guaranteed his prominence in the universal Church.

Should this latest plan come to pass, Cardinal Tagle, who will turn 60 in June, will have an enviable "CV" for a conclave frontrunner: a long stint (more than 15 years and counting) as diocesan bishop then archbishop, followed by a stint as head of a Curial dicastery.

In the two previous Februaries Don Pio Pace wrote for Rorate long articles on the growing Tagle candidacy for the next conclave, articles worth reading now more than ever:

  • Bergoglio should be referred to as "Pope Corleone."
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

  • This is just in fighting among the modernist/progressivists. It should be viewed by real Catholics like watching Protestants or Muslims fighting with each other.

Pius X described modernism as the cesspool of all heresies, in other words, the place where all heresies come together. Modernists/progressivists are heretics. A cesspool is the pond, the final destination of  all the human excrement flows from a city.
