He's not a real brother. The Eastern Orthodox denied that he was either a priest or a cleric monk. So what is he? A social influencer wearing a costume? I would stay away. Just because he's not afraid to speak out about the Jews doesnt mean he's your friend. The enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend. I dont have time or interest to watch all his videos but he seems mentally unstable. Unfortunately, trad Catholic communities have a knack sometimes for attracting mental nut jobs. I hope that I am wrong, and prayers can help him.

Just shut up.  You're obviously completely ignorant, claiming that wearnig beards and his garb are weird and therefore somehow "rabbinic".  You have no idea what you're talking abou.  "Stay away?"  What ... do you live in proximity to him?  Shut up and mind your own business.  You can also decide that he's "mentally unstable"?

This is precisely the type of Trad-Phariseeism that turns people away from Traditional Catholicism.

We need to welcome him and rejoice in his conversion to Catholicism.  If "mental instability" exludes someone from membership in the Church, probably 50% of current Trads would be in trouble.

Why doesnt he lose the garb and beard? Is he trying to maintain an online image and a following? Does he understand that if you are in the eastern church you cant just jump ship to the western church? A lot of weird things here. I am going with mentally unhinged or a plant.

Ignorant fool ... yet sitting in judgment.

Beards are practically required among Eastern Catholics, since they have a long history of considering clean-shaven faces effeminate.  Both his garb and his facial hair are quite consistent with Eastern Rites (including Catholic), such as those below:

Those taller, more cylindrical caps are called kamilavka.  That one second from the right dresses quite similar to Brother Nathanael and has the facial hair, though the facila hair of the one almost directly in the middle is the one that looks more like Brother.

In addiiton to being ignorant, you're a liar.

An official canonical statement from the ROCOR Eastern American Diocese confirmed that Kapner did receive a legitimate monastic tonsure as a Rassophore monk (a lower, preparatory rank of monasticism) under the late Metropolitan Hilarion. This granted him the right to wear the black robes and the kamilavka / klobuk headdress. Prior to this, he had spent years spending time in and out of different monasteries and operating as an unblessed novice.

He was in fact accepted as an official Rassophore monk (some lower rank monk) that nevertheless entitled him to wear the black and the kamilkava headdress.  Even the Orthodox wouldn't let just anyone dress up that way.

Interesting that the PDF statement distanced themselves from his political views, saying they accept anyone seeking salvation despite their political views ... which is what the SSPX could to to get that separation, and they could even troll the Vatican by claiming that they can't do anything, since they have no authority over him due to being excommunicated.

Now, to be a truly "real" brother, you'd have to be Catholic, but that's not the slander you were making.

He did quit ROCOR, however ... after they backtracked on their letter and demanded that he stop talking about the Jєωιѕн question.  But that's not what you meant either ... since not a few priests and religious left the Conciliar Church after the reforms, but that didn't make them not "real" priests and religious.

Good for Brother Nathanael, that he's become Catholic from Orthodox. Hope he becomes a Good Catholic, and perseveres in the Catholic Faith till death, and leads many non-Catholics to become Catholic. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

I'm glad we could agree in something.  While others are too busy buckering about which group he did or did not join, I'm just thrilled that he left the Orthodox and now professes the Catholic faith ... and I agree that he could draw others toward the faith also.
