This is like if David Icke, the guy who constantly talks about alien lizards, was asked to join (and joined) the govt committee about aliens not being real.

Brother Nathaniel joins the "middle of the road, let's not offend anyone" sspx.   This makes no sense.

The sspx's excommunication didn't have the "shock value" that new rome wanted.  I think this Nathaniel addition will create a situation where the sspx will be condemned as anti-semetic.  They need the laity to be "shocked" and scared of being Trad.
If that happens it will only help the SSPX.

No, because most sspx laity are normies and the label of "anti semite" still scares normies.

It looks like the SSPX is being set up to look bad. For the stigma of excommunication and schism and next... anti-Semitism.

Recall that Opus Dei has always seen the SSPX as an interloper on their prelature territory.

They have used their international media network to defame the SSPX all the while Bp. Fellay was compromising with B16 and Bergy.

Michael Voris wrote many anti SSPX scripts for Opus Dei during his Church Militant years.

Again, as long as Brother Nathanael isn't officially accepted into SSPX, it wouldn't reflect badly on the SSPX.  Pretty much anyone can just show up at their chapels.  I'm basically a sedeprivationist Feeneyite who believes that Prevost is no more pope than my pet cat is, and I will show up from time to time at SSPX chapels.

Now, if the Conciliars try to pressure them into "condemning" what Brother Nathanael says, they could easily turn the Modernists' claims about their status by saying that "we have no authority to condemn anyone or anyting, since we lack ordinary jurisdiction in the Church."

I hope you're right.  I don't like being cynical but whenever a "celebrity" makes a move in the religious arena, I can't help but think there's an agenda.
