I've been studying and debating this American phenomenon (no Spaniard ever believed this garbage) of Heroin BOD, the belief of salvation for ANYONE in any false religion (all non-Catholic religions are false and of the devil, gates of Hell.) for those who have no explicit desire to be Catholic, nor baptized, nor believe in Christ. I've identified it, to give it a formal name, as the theological speculation called salvation by implicit faith in Christ, implicit in their belief in a god (yes with a small g.) that rewards. However, the truth is that what they believe is not something defined, but a negation of EENS, as it is written. When they are finally shown that their every belief is a grasping of straw, a desperate and almost certainly futile effort to save oneself, they will inevitable invoke the truth that what they believe is:
-Salvation by a perfect act of contrition before God just after death while the mind is still functioning. (in those last few seconds they say!)
-Anyone who dies in sanctifying grace is saved. God can sanctify anyone just after death.
20 years of debating with BODers and they ALL, except one, behind the façade of defending explicit BOD & BOB of the catechumen, in reality they all believed that anyone can be saved just after death when they see the truth, no matter what he "religion" he lived and died with.
