If the pope upheld traditional faith and morality, and the traditional Mass, I wouldn't care if he were from the deepest bowels of the Congo and were as black as midnight under a cast iron skillet. (One of my remote ancestors might well have fit the latter description.)
Still, though, in case no one's ever noticed, part of the deterioration of the post-Vatican II Church has been a proxy war against traditional European civilization, patrimony, morals, and manners. It's really a kind of spiritual genocide in slow motion, with the death of the civilization instead of necessarily the death of people. (Self-aborting and self-contracepting ourselves out of existence takes care of that part.)
