Someone sent me a link to a collection of Bishop Williamson's Sacred Scripture class from 1995-1996, this time on the Gospel According to St. Matthew.

Here's a direct link to download the .mp3 files from my box.com account.

Somone on the Substack pledge to offer some financial support.  While I greatly appreciate the generosity, I will not accept payments of any kind for thing that may be of spiritual benefit to others, as that to me savors of simony.  Not that I condemn others who accept donations, since it can be considered compensation for their time and effort, but that's just not how I think about it.

During the first class, you can here His Excellency call out some familiar names, including "Chazal", "Marshall Roberts", and "Kurz".  I believe this may have been at a time 1995-1996 when Matthew was there, and it's quite possible that Matthew was in this class, but I'm not certain.

Nope, that would predate my entrance by about 5 years. I was graduated from High School at the time, but I didn't go immediately into the seminary.

So I missed all the drama with the "Johnnies"
