    • But the cake's baker doesn't get fired, even though he clearly has no interest in selling edible cakes.  If you want to eat cake, it has to be his cake, but just the ones you have poked and prodded enough to know there is no poison in it.  If you fire the baker, you might have to get by on bread and water for a while, which unpoisoned will keep you alive and make you stronger, but it doesn't taste as good as cake.  So we'll risk getting poisoned.
