  • No woman can be VALIDLY ordained a priest or consecrated a bishop. I was reading recently about deaconesses in the early Church. They may have had the same functions as deacons and counted among the clergy, but never was there one ever VALIDLY made a priest or bishop. In fact, those women called presbytera were the wives of priests in that time. Also, the word for "ordained" was not the most clear in meaning as what it would mean today.
