Matthew 7:16-20Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)
16 By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
When told I must 'respect' NO popes, I look back at the millions of souls lost because of what modernist Churchmen brought about. I lived through these times (I am 75 next month) and saw popes having a great time in Rome waving at packed crowds in St Peter's Square while A Protestant-type graceless mass drove millions around the world into apathy for the Catholic faith while at the same time proper catechisms were put in the waste-baskets to be replaced with junk that teaches nothing to children.
I have seen one of the most Catholic countries on earth (Ireland) turn into a country of ANTI-CHRISTS and no pope or our bishops gave a damn.
Then when I see some of them made saints and blessed I ask how can God allow His Church to be so corrupted by these men? I tell you, the only way to keep the faith is to trust God knows what he is allowing and that He has reasons for allowing them. Perhaps these times are times of testing, a different kind of martyrdom for the faithful.
I agree with the poster. I try not to be devoured by the scandals and concentrate on loving God in the best way I have found, the first dogma of Faith, praising him through the things that He made. Only in the beauty of the sky, the earth, the trees, flowers, birds animals etc do I find the omnipotence of God, not in human society (or Rome) that stinks to low-hell.
