    The kicker is the claim by Benedict that he kept the white cassock at the time of his resignation because there were no other clothes available!

    Apparently there were no other names either!

    And even more interestingly, the only times he comes out of seclusion for public ecclesiastical acts are when the consent of a pope would be required: The consecration of 19 cardinals, and soon again for the canonization of JPII.

  • Yeah, the no clothes thing was half tongue-in-cheek and half disingenuous.  He clearly likes being Pope Emeritus.
