All Catholics are sedevacantists in times of interregnum.  A sedevacantist is a Catholic who believes the Seat is vacant.
Where did you get this definition from?

Thank you, a common sense answer!

I agree. God willing he repents of his multiple heresies. Sadly, deathbed conversions are extremely rear.

Sorry, I meant “rare” not “rear”. I must have had Bergoglio on my mind. :jester:

I predict a bunch of new Bennyvacantist posters in the coming days assuming Ratzinger does in fact die soon.

You're missing the real gist of his comment:  Tony etal just don't want to be associated with "those" sedevacantists. Tony etal are above "that" position.
.

Yes, that was clear, but it's absurd for him to reject being sedevacantist when he is going to believe the see to be vacant, which is exactly what sedevacantism means.

What's happening here is that the indult, FSSP and conservative NO crowd believe sedevacantists to be the epitome of all evil. They even throw the term around as an insult. They call each other sedevacantist the way you or I would call someone a son of a (etc.). They will darkly "suspect" each other of being sedevacantist sometimes, too.

So, now these people are losing it at the thought that they are going to be sedevacantists themselves probably within a week at the most, and this irrational tirade from this Tony guy is just how they are trying to cope.

It's totally bizarre to me because, even though I don't agree with their ideas, I don't rant and rave about how I'm not indult, and I don't accuse other sedes of being indult, and I don't foam at the mouth if someone thinks I'm indult. I don't call indultees crazy people who belong in an insane asylum, as they say about sedevacantists. I understand their position, and even though I don't agree with it, what they think doesn't bother me.

But the real question is why these indultees have such strong feelings against us? Ann Barnhardt, for example, has said the most unchristian things about sedevacantists every time she mentions the subject, which is almost never.

I've always wondered about this, but just now it occurred to me that I think they are envious of the peace we enjoy by rejecting the Vatican 2 hierarchy in toto while enjoying all the benefits they have too. Like them, we have the traditional liturgy and doctrine, but unlike them, we don't have to live in a constant state of anxiety and outrage over whether the "pope" or our "bishop" will take the Latin Mass away from us, or will force sacrilegious laws upon us such as Amoris Laetitia. We don't have to have a "crisis of faith" every time Francis worships the pachamama or praises some protestant minister or rabbi. We don't have to make one video after another telling people not to worry about one sex scandal after another, or one horror after another that they're constantly dealing with in the new church.

I think it's just envy, plain and simple, that's behind their animosity towards sedevacantists.
