I agree with almost everything you said, Matthew, except that I seem to have given you a mistaken impression, because I don't really agree with the modus operandi of Novus Ordo Watch and similar websites.
Catholics who strive to hold fast to tradition and stand firm on orthodoxy need look no further than those who have gone before us whom Holy Mother Church presents for our veneration and imitation. The Saints and Fathers had a love of orthodoxy and a hatred of heresy begotten by personal sanctity, it was this that inspired them to be not of the world, not because of a love of polemics or a fascination with controversies for their own sake. I really dislike the ridiculous polemical tone some of these websites have (Traditio comes to mind) and their neo-Donatist way of speaking of problems in the Church today, not that these matters don't have their place, but this is certainly not the way. So it definitely wasn't that I was agreeing with.
Anyway, I agree, as in the Church at large, put any significantly large group of Catholics together, and you'll have different people with a wide range of interests, and CathInfo certainly has something for everyone.
