Bp. Musey:
"It_was later then, that Archbishop Lefebvre, incidentally, who himself has criticized Archbishop Thuc for having consecrated bishops, Lefebvre said 'that he has consecrated bishops without the approval of the Holy Father. This proves the man must be out of his mind! '

27. "Later Archbishop Lefebvre-said the day might come when he would also have to consecrate a bishop, but things would have to get a lot worse: and he did not say that he would have to lose his mind in order to consecrate one. "

Persto: So, Abp. Lefebvre criticized Abp. Thuc for doing exactly what Abp. Lefebvre would do many years later,, and Abp. Thuc is still attacked for it.

We dont even know that is true or not. Dogmatic sedes are terrible for spreading lies.

And clearly they are not the same nature. The first batch of consecrations Thuc chose to do he simulated! A crime meriting death. My goodness, compare that to the level of preparation that went into 1988, and you realize how crazy it is to compare the two men.

This 6 minute video is a good introduction to the Vietnamese Martyrs. Abp. Thuc had 50 members of his family die as Martyrs in these persecutions.

Mario Derksen:
"To sum up...the consecrations of Bps. Carmona, Zamora, and des Lauriers were not forbidden in the eyes of Church law because of the urgent necessity to have sedevacantist bishops to ensure the perpetuation of valid sacraments for the good of the Church and the salvation of souls. It is most reasonable to suppose that the Pope who instituted an excommunication as a penalty against those who would consecrate bishops without papal permission would nevertheless not have wanted his law to bind in the case of Bp. Thuc’s 1981 consecrations, for the simple reason that there was no other way to provide the few remaining true Roman Catholic faithful with valid bishops for a long time to come. As necessity knows no law, and as the ultimate purpose of the Church’s law is the salvation of souls, and as these acts of episcopal consecration were unquestionably necessary to ensure the salvation of souls according to the mind of the Church, the episcopal consecrations of Bps. Carmona, Zamora, and des Lauriers were not only licit and lawful but most laudable and praiseworthy because it was in keeping with the ultimate purpose of the Church’s law that they were conferred."
