Abp Thuc officiating at the funeral of his neice Le Thuy in France, 1967.  In the center is Madame Nhu, and her oldest son on the right.

Madame Nhu’s daughter, Ngo Dinh Le Thuy, died in a car crash on April 12, 1967, in Longjumeau, France.  She was 22 years old at the time of the accident, which occurred when her vehicle collided with two trucks.
Abp Thuc says of this accident: "She was my brother Nhu’s eldest daughter; she was run over near Paris by two trucks driven by Americans."

Undated photo of Abp. Thục among Catholics in South Vietnam.

His tenure in Huế was short: just a little over two years. Then the Second Vatican Council took him to Europe and permanent exile.
