    Dean Michel Fernandez, surrounded by eight priests from Burkina Faso, celebrated the 30th anniversary of his priestly ordination on Sunday, September 1, 2019.

    The Mass was set to the rhythm of the djembe (played by Father Christophe Simpore), and the crowd was undeterred by the rain that was beginning to threaten. The Dean was surrounded by the entire community and his family throughout the day.  After Mass, parishioners hosted a reception—a "lunch cocktail"—under the covered market hall, where the Dean took the time to engage in a genuine, unhurried conversation with every person present.
