  • I'm a Catholic and I find the Traditional Latin Rite very beautiful! Though I'm not a member of SSPX, I attended a TLM while visiting Chicago at a parish which offerst both the TLM and the Novus Ordo in Latin. I was excited to find out that there is an SSPX chapel not far from me, but found out that it would not be right for me to attend as the Church considers SSPX masses illicit. Since I heard that it would be illicit, the idea of going to an SSPX chapel is gnawing against my conscience, so all I can do now is hope and pray that SSPX comes back to the Church someday. Nevertheless, I find that going to my local Novus Ordo parish beautiful too. I got to mass to worship God and to receive the Eucharist, so that I maybe sanctified to  share the life, truth and grace I receive at mass with those who are starving for the love and truth of Christ.

  • Would you rather attend a Mass that is licit or one that is valid?

  • I hope you will do more research on the difference between the Novus Ordo and  Traditional Catholicism.

Only one that is valid and licit.

Sorry.  You can't have both these days.  You must choose.  Valid or Licit.

    Hi Marsha,

I have read much about the Traditional Latin Mass and hope to see it offered more and more in our parishes since it was made available through JPII's Motu Propio Ecclesia Dei. Thank goodness many parishes are adopting it, as it is very beautiful. But the way I see it, the first Mass (the Last Supper) was quite different than what we now call the "Traditional Latin Mass" For one, it wasn't even in Latin, but it was still quite valid! ;)

The way I see it is that God's Catholic Church will always prevail despite the hypocrites, liars, adulterers, perverts, traitors, and all sorts of scoundrels and wolves that were, are, and will always be within both the clergy and the laity until the end of the world. Merely reading the Acts of the Apostles makes this abundantly clear. I attend a Novus Ordo parish which I like very much.

According to who? I can only trust what the Church teaches, not what someone says on the Internet..

Since the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the apostles were Jєωs, I suppose the answer is absolutely yes!!

I hope so; but that's up to God, not me. But according to Jesus' description of the Last Judgment, my soul is not going to be judged on me being Catholic, but rather on how much I love my neighbor. Jesus is very clear about this.  So I suppose God will judge every single soul He has made in His Image and Likeness accordingly.

The way I see it is that we Catholics have been given much more than others in the form of grace and truth. If anything, I think we will be judged  more harshly and at a higher standard than those who did not have the blessing of being born into a Catholic family..

Our Lord Jesus Christ was not a "Jєω" in the religious sense of the word.

St. Fulgentius said all Jєωs would be damned.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

No problem---honesty is the best policy!

The way I see it is that I am humbled that God blessed treasures of graces upon me simply by being born Catholic. But I also shudder when I read when Jesus said:

"But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more."--Luke 12:48

I also shudder when I realize that the people Jesus was very harsh with the Pharisees, who were very religious and knew the law inside out, spending much of their time in the temple and talking about God, following all the laws and performing all the ritual sacrifices and quite proud of their tithing. Thinking they were close to God, Jesus said they were very far from God.
