This happened in 2007, I believe.
It would be comparatively easy for us to be holy if only we could always see the character of our neighbours either in soft shade or with the kindly deceits of moonlight upon them. Of course, we are not to grow blind to evil

  • I had been away from the Faith for some time, and didn't know of this. After reading the article, I decided to Google the original CMRI sisters, and when I did, I found the CMRI has a great bookstore online! I just ordered a whole bunch of CDs, DVDs and books that I couldn't find anywhere else!

"If I am not in the state of grace, may the Lord put me in it. And if I am in the state of grace, may the Lord keep me in it".--St Jehanne D'Arc, during her trial.

  • All of this did happen in 2007.  It is a very old story.  Apparently, the National Catholic Register either just found out about it or they decided they hadn't been able to find any good anti-sedevacantists stories lately.

The bishop's letter on this can be found at:  http://www.cmri.org/02-sisters-letter.html

  • Please note that this article speaks of the events as if they are contempoary even to the point of talking about Bishop Skylstad's pleasure with the sisters.  Skylstad is no longer the Conciliar bishop of Spokane.  The Conciliar bishop is Blase J. Cupich and has been since 2010.

    Dishonest reporting at its best.

Wow.  This sounded like something that happened recently.  I am new to traditional Catholicism, so I was intrigued.

Why would they report on this 4 years after the fact?

    Strange.

  • I suspect that this story has been retold in a current article to coincide with the World Youth Day this week.
