  • Theoretically, if I ignored every Sede on Cath Info would there even be enough frequent posters on the Crisis subforum for me to carry on a discussion with?

I'm not planning on doing this, as I've never ignored anyone here. However, it will be a good test to see if it is even possible for a non Sede to carry on a conversation about the Crisis with a decent number of other non-Sedes on this forum.

If you are not a Sede of any sort and you post in the Crisis section regularly please identify yourself.

    Thanks.

  • I am a non-sede, though you already know that.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • I am not a sede, at least by a thread.
"Washington is a city of Southern efficiency and Northern charm." - John F. Kennedy

    - "How come the Eagles never run the ball?"
    - "Andy Reid ate all the running plays."

  • So there are four non Sedes on Cath Info I can regularly talk to about the crisis?

Might it be that the non Sedes are sick of having every thread turn into some version of a Sede debate?

If they had a crisis subsection of their own might they be more apt to post?

Regardless of your viewpoint, one has to admit that, objectively, having 4 regular non-Sedes and an army of Sedes posting in the Crisis section is not good for business.

If I'm interested in discussing the Crisis with non Sedes where can I do that on this forum? I think that would be a draw to many Trads. The crisis section could draw in curious Neo-Caths. As it stands Curious Neo-Caths run in horror as some Sede goes nutter on them and they write off all Trads as angry kooks.

  • There are plenty of fora where we are banished. This is, as far as I know, the only place where we are allowed to speak. You have plenty of choice, we do not. Why expel us from here as well?

If Matthew allows us to speak on his forum, that is his choice. If you hate us so much that you cannot stand our presence, you could always go to one of the many fora where we are marginalised.

  • I DO NOT WANT TO SILENCE YOU OR BAN YOU FROM THE FORUM.

I just want one place to discuss the crisis where sede-ism is off limits as a topic. This doesn't mean there can't be a separate place where sede-ism is open to discussion re: the crisis. The two are not mutually exclusive.

  • The truth is, you just don't like our views being published; someone might decide the sede view is worth considering.  Otherwise you would just go to Angel Queen or their ilk for a like minded discussion.

How about at the next Assisi prayer meeting? I'm sure there won't be many sedes there.

BS! They can be published all they want. I'm just asking if a small separate piece of virtual real estate can exist whereone can discuss the crisis with other non-Sedes so every discussion is not argued in the light of how it relates to sede-ism or its various asumptions and premises.

The title of every topic on this subforum may as well have "...as it relates to to sede-ism" after it.

Angel Queen is the exact OPPOSITE of what I'm talking about. They go to the opposite extreme and knee-jerk lock threads and ban posters who say anything the bi-polar moderator doesn't like that day, no matter what theological persuasion one is. They are a mess.

That said, at least you can discuss the crisis outside of sede-ism there, at least for three posts before the topic is locked. This is why I think a similar subforum for Cath Info would appeal to a lot of people who are fed up with AQ.
