  • Wondering if you or someone you know is a "home alone" Catholic, and if so, what is your reason for staying home?

  • I know many. For them the church went apostate after V2.

  • That feels like a position rife with despair and internal strife.

Sedevacantists believe the same, so I'm wondering what reason(s) they might have for not going to a sedevacantist Mass?

I know of a forum that's home-aloner and their reasoning, at least, is that the sedevacantist clergy have no papal mandate and are acting illegitimately.

The Catholic Church cannot become apostate. Her members can, and they leave the Church. Just clarifying. Too many people word it like this and it's wrong.

Pope Pius XI, Mortalium Animos (# 10), Jan. 6, 1928: “During the lapse of centuries, the mystical Spouse of Christ has never been contaminated, nor can she ever in the future be contaminated, as Cyprian bears witness: ‘The Bride of Christ cannot be made false to her Spouse: she is incorrupt and modest. She knows but one dwelling, she guards the sanctity of the nuptial chamber chastely and modestly.”

Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos (# 10), Aug. 15, 1832: “Therefore, it is obviously absurd and injurious to propose a certain ‘restoration and regeneration’ for her (the Church) as though necessary for her safety and growth, as if she could be considered subject to any failing health or dimming of mind or other misfortune.”

    Agreed. Thanks for clarifying.

I have heard that before as well. I have also heard the argument that there are no valid clergy left on the planet. Just wondering if there are other reasons too.

Do you recall the name of the home alone forum? I remember coming across it before as well and now can't think of the name of it.

I don't think that is exactly a home aloner forum a la Gerry Matatics. I believe it is a Siri Thesis forum. They believe there is a Pope in hiding and they do have priests, but only a few. There was one member on Cathinfo who actually goes to one of their priests for the sacraments, though I forget his username. And they think only the few priests that are under their pope can give Catholic sacraments so all other priests should be avoided under pain of sin.
