Author Topic: Archbishop Vigano Accused by the Vatican of the Crime of Schism  (Read 8057 times)

"The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has informed me, with a simple email, of the initiation of an extrajudicial penal trial against me, with the accusation of having committed the crime of schism and charging me of having denied the legitimacy of “Pope Francis” of having broken communion “with Him” and of having rejected the Second Vatican Council. I have been summoned to the Palace of the Holy Office on June 20, in person or represented by a canon lawyer. I assume that the sentence has already been prepared, given that it is an extrajudicial process."

This seems to the summer of major events. The SSPX announcing the neccessity to consecrate bishops, Rome planning to ban the True Mass and now Archbishop Vigano accused of schism.

I'd simply respond:

"Guilty" as charged ... with denying the legitimacy of Bergoglio, breaking "communion" with him, and rejecting Vatican II.  No need for any kind of process.

Vigano's Episcopal re-consecration was with Bishop Williamson so he will always remain valid.

In the article linked to in the OP, on the 4th paragraph from the bottom, +Vigano writes:

"Fifty years ago, in that same palace of the holy office, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was summoned and accused of schism for rejecting Vatican ll. His defense is mine; his words are mine."

Actually, Archbishop Lefebvre, when summoned to the Holy Office, maintained his loyalty to the Pope in his defense. He did so again in written communications. So, Vigano's defense is not the same as Archbishop Lefebvre.
