The Paulist Fathers is a male society founded by Fr. Isaac Hecker in 1858 in the USA. Fr. Hecker was an Américaniste (condemned heresy by Pope Leo XIII) and his life and ideas caused much trouble in France. The Paulist Fathers in the 19th and 20th century spread the ideas of Fr. Hecker through their publication the Catholic World.

The Paulist Fathers today run the Catholic Information Center (CIC). The website says it is dedicated to:

Ecuмenism – the search for the unity God wills for the Church, opens us to the spiritual riches and Gospel traditions of other Christian churches, and urges us to work with one another for unity in life and mission; opens us also to our unique spiritual kinship with the Jєωιѕн people; and to the movement of the Spirit in other world religions.
