I can understand the argument that it's valid, but that the New Rite of Ordination is "more clear"?  Apart from the change in the essential form "ut", which certainly doesn't make it more clear, the enumeration of the powers of the priesthood in the rest of the Rite has been nearly wiped out.  How does that make it "more clear"?

I can't now remember Fr. Hesse's reasoning in the matter. I can try to find the video and post it here though.

Found it.

Father Hesse on the validity of the Novus Ordo sacraments. The first 50 minutes are worth watching as a good lead up to his views on the validity new rite ordination to priesthood, and new rite for consecration of bishop. He begins to talk specifically about these new rites at about the 50:00 minute mark. But the first 50 minutes are mainly about the validity of the New Mass, which is a similar argument as to why he believes that the new rites of ordination and consecration are more clear than the old rites. Very interesting.

Even before I took the sedevacantist position, I remember watching and taking notes on Fr Hesse's arguments....and thinking something about his position was off/did not make sense/was contradictory.  As a result, I could not get on board with him.

That's fine. I understand.

Father Hesse was one of my first introductions to Tradition. I ordered some of his talks from a sedevacantist's website who used to sponsor Fr. Hesse when he came to the U.S. I can't recall the sponsor's name just now.
