  • Ok, when William and Laurencio joined months ago, the Ode had just come out, and the thread was mostly discussing the wrongdoings of SGG. Concedo (I concede), for whatever that's worth.

So when William said, "Where is the proof!" and Laurencio said, "What are you doing!?" at least their criticisms made sense.

But now, you have people like "St. Simon of Trent" and even "Robert Rawhide" making essentially the same arguments 4 or 5 months later -- and Fr. Cekada and/or Robert Rawhide (I can't remember which) making accusations that CathInfo is a cozy little gossipping coffee clutch where we spend our days whispering to each other the sins of Fr. Cekada and other SGG personnel for our own depraved amusement.

BUT...what about the dozens of posts from SGG "defenders" over the past months? Gladius has posted many of his posts IN RESPONSE TO various posts from SGG defenders. A good portion of the Ode thread was written by SGG defenders at this point, or was written by Eamon's "team" as a response to them. CathInfo has been extremely tolerant under the circuмstances. Especially since this is a small forum, and only a handful of organized people could pollute and/or divert the conversation about this topic. Any moderator has to watch out for groups/individuals trying to "take over" the forum.

SGG is being discussed, yes. But is this a one-sided gossip fest, where opposition is instantly squelched? Not at all. Even if each SGG defender got only 10 posts in, that's a heck of a lot of posts! NOTE: I believe that a number of SGG defenders we've seen are duplicates -- not all of them -- but some of them. But we're dealing with a cult, so don't you suppose some of the remaining parishioners, out of zeal for the cause, would sign up to fight -- enlist, as it were, in "the war"?

It's interesting that Fr. Cekada makes NO MENTION of "the good side" (from his point of view) when he talks about the Internet War being waged on "those nasty internet forums", or whatever disparaging phrase he used to describe CathInfo. Why is he ignoring his noble defenders? Downplaying them to the point of nonexistence? Is he exaggerating? At the very least, he is not being very accurate. Get your scorecard -- another strike against complete openness and honesty for Fr. Cekada.

Oh, and let's not forget the fact that CathInfo is NOT a blog or forum hastily set up to discuss this issue. It is a general Traditional Catholic Forum, where Catholics can discuss whatever topics they want or need to discuss. Even now there are plenty of threads unrelated to SGG. But everyone should keep in mind, this forum has been around for 3 1/4 years now! It was here long before the SGG scandal, and will be here long after this scandal is dealt with.

Anyhow, this is another point that "just doesn't add up" and makes one tend to think that Fr. Cekada is not a member of The Good Side in this dispute.

  • Those who crave the Sacraments must get them where they licitly can and remember that the imperfectsions of those who administer them does not effect the grace received from them.  Luckily, there are plenty of other options in Ohio from what I have heard.  These must be the end times as we know them as all the mighty ones seem to be falling.  We are starting to see people for what they truly are as will more completely be the case at the Final Judgement.

To whom much is given much is expected.  I do wish the clergy would remember that and not get caught up in pettiness and downright evil.
"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." Hi Matthew,

Must admit, this is the type of thing I've been considering for the past fortnight or so; I don't believe it takes rocket science to see the rather contradictory nature of all this...

But it is sad nevertheless
