  • Wasn't that statement about the two worm ridden popes from Our Lady of the Revelation at Tres Fontanas?
I don't know, but if it was, this apparition has not been approved even by the Vatican II church:

It seems from researching the internet the only mention of the "two worm ridden popes" was from Fr Hesse and it is presented as a "Secret" of Our Lady of LaSalette.  Why is it that only Fr Hesse knew about this?
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

Apparently he had read the authentic French account.

  • That's highly disputed.  There's a lot of evidence that he was actually a sincere covert and a devout Catholic.
    Lads,

We should be able to determine if he had Jєωιѕн blood 🩸

I’m suspicious of him because of his secular popularity.  Alois Irlmaier foretold many coming events... and no one knows him.

But if Nostra was of Jєωιѕн blood, I’d be highly suspect of his authenticity.

    Just sayin...

I agree that you can never know with Jєωιѕн "converts," but one can't rule out a sincere conversion either.

    Yes, there is always hope.

I couldn't find anything on him in the 1931 Attwater, Catholic Dictionary or on the Catholic Encyclopedia on the web ?

I wonder what the best Catholic source is for a true telling of his life?

If you have the time, research it further.

There is a boat load of misinformation on the apparition.

You have to go deeper to find the true story.  If you have some French trad contacts they may be able to help you.

The apparition was suppressed from the beginning.  I was able to find a French website which told Melanie’s story.

She was devout and a real fighter.   Eventually, she received support to help get the true story out.

I recall, even Roy Shoeman, the “miraculous marrano” was caught writing misleading information about the messages of Our Lady of La Salette.

He said essentially that traditional Catholics had misunderstood the importance of the messages and interpreted them as warning of a crisis in the Church.  When in fact, the messages were only meant for  the French region where Our Lady visited.

Roy Schoeman’s “Catholic imitation gig” has since lost all credibility.

  • Here is the Our Lady of La Salette message with the imprimatur of the Bishop of Lecce. This is the same message that includes "The Church will be in eclipse" and "Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of Antichrist"

    .
The history of this supposed text is rather complex. Melanie published Our Lady's warning against swearing and violating the Sunday, but was given a message for Pius IX personally. She wrote that message down and sent it to him, but Pius IX never published that message, nor did any of his successors. Many years after, towards the end of her life, Melanie wrote a text that she claimed was the letter she wrote to Pius IX almost 30 year prior, and that is what you are quoting from above. That text was forbidden to be discussed by the Holy Office in 1904 and again in the early 1920s.
    .
So yes, Our Lady of La Salette warned people not to work on Sunday or swear, but the stuff about Rome losing the Faith and those other apocalyptic predictions is in a book that I believe was put on the Index of Forbidden Books.

I could see why that would be put on the Index.  Back in their day, it would have been very shocking, implying a defection of the Church ... although other visionaries and Scripture commentators felt that the Antichrist would one day set up shop in Rome.

This is what I was thinking.

  • Lads,

We should be able to determine if he had Jєωιѕн blood 🩸

I’m suspicious of him because of his secular popularity.  Alois Irlmaier foretold many coming events... and no one knows him.

But if Nostra was of Jєωιѕн blood, I’d be highly suspect of his authenticity.

    Just sayin...
In "Phillip II," William Thomas Walsh called Nostradamus the "Jєωιѕн astrologer and quack."  (pg. 283)
Elsewhere, after relating how Phillip had received a full horoscope of his life, Walsh wrote:
"The author of this prognostication was no less a person than Nostradamus, favorite astrologer of Catherine de' Medici, whose ambitions he had already whetted by his famous prophecy that all five of her sons would sit on thrones.  Cabrera calls him 'a noted French astrologer.'  As such he was known throughout Europe.  Actually he was one of those versatile Jєωs who combined a certain medical knowledge with an enormous aptitude for quackery and political intrigue and were to be found close to so many kings and other persons of importance in the sixteenth century."  (pg. 196)
Phillip burned the horoscope without reading it, by the way.

If any one saith that true and natural water is not of necessity for baptism, and on that account wrests to some sort of metaphor those words of Our Lord Jesus Christ, "Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost...,"  Let Him Be Anathama.  -COUNCIL OF TRENT Sess VII Canon II “On Baptism"
