  • I tried to find an Anglican Ordinal to see whether it's true that the Novus Ordo one for making Priests is almost the same, and I found one from the 19th century in archive.org but I wasn't really sure what would be considered the "form" in the Anglican one, or if that was an Ordinal I should be looking at for comparison.

Does anyone know which Anglican Ordinal could be used for comparison and where to find it?

I'd really like to see both "forms" side-by-side.

  • Here is the Book of Common Prayer (USA) ordinal of 1928.  The 1928 Book of Common Prayer is the prayerbook which most USA conservative Anglicans adhere to.  The Anglican Communion, as a whole, recognizes the 1928 BCP (USA) ordinal as canonical:

This would be the closest Anglican ordinal that Pope Leo would have referred to when issuing Apostolicae Curae

This next link takes you to both the Latin and English translation of the 1896 Pontificale Romanum.  Again, this would be the Roman Ordinal Pope Leo would have based his Apostolicae Curae.

You'll just have to cut, copy and paste the two ordinals side by side to make your comparison.

  • Here is the closest Novus Ordo (1968) ordination ceremony I've found on the internet:

Here's the current Book of Common Prayer (1979) which has the ordination rite included:

    http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/formatted_1979.htm

Again, you'll have to copy and paste.

  • I thought I found that once online.  Let me see if I can locate it.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)
