  • I am not going, but I understand that some, or all, of the speeches to be given at this Conference must first be approved by Society leadership.  This is especially true of a talk prepared by Fr. Kenneth Novak.  I have been made privy to a first draft of that intended speech.  It will apparently have to be changed in order to set a certain subject matter standard set by SSPX for the event.  We'll see.

    And what is that precisely?

  • What is that precisely?  I can't say for a certainty.  But since Fr. Novak's speech, as I recall it, was originally to be centered upon the Kingship of Christ, I would assume that aspect of that topic in his intended speech were unacceptable at the point in time.

What is unacceptable?  The "Kingship of Christ"?  The very thing the SSPX teaches?  That's a very strange and vague assertion, can you be more precise?

  • Sorry, I have no more information than that.  Although the piece was read to me off a computer monitor, I don't recall many of the details, and I have no personal copy of it.  It was, I repeat, apparently not entirely acceptable in the form in which I heard it, for what specific reasons I can't say.  Because, as you yourself note, the Kingship of Christ is "the very thing which SSPX teaches."  Tell you what, listen to the re-airing of the talk by Fr. Novak after the Conference.  I'm sure it will show up somewhere.  Then you can decide for yourself whether the speech does justice to the SSPX position on the topic. Who knows, it may that Fr. Novak heads off in an entirely different direction topic-wise.  We'll see
