Great, that is what this forum is all about getting the truth out there. So,ServusInutilisDomini, give us the truth, what do you know that can convince all to give a thumbs down to this accusation against Pius IX.

Well actually I think Ferretti (Pius lX) was a Freemason but was converted by the grace of the office. (Papacy)
He was a validly elected Pope , which made the enemies of the Church realize that only non- validly elected anti- popes could actually do their dirty work- hence 1958 conclave and Vll

I know nothing and I believe it is possible that he was a mason.

What I was trying to express is that if Pius IX was a freemason now every pope can be a freemason and that would be really tiring, so I would want a break from that.

Honestly, I really don't want to now investigate popes before Pius XII.

It was just an off-the-cuff comment, didn't mean to start a discussion.
