  • Videos like this drive me to the brink of sedevacantism:

You only need to watch the first 10 minutes, and if you vomit, I don't blame you.

  • How anyone can watch that and say that the Catholic Faith was not substantially altered by Vatican II is beyond me.  And we have had many "popes" continue to teach this new religion to the world.  Imagine Francis sitting in that seat saying the same things....because we know that he would.  We would come to the same conclusion: A "heretic" speaks.

Thanks for that video.  At a time when I was unsure of where I stand, it re-confirmed by beliefs.  My pilgrimage to Mass and Confession and my discussion with my priest have also re-confirmed them.

  • At least the heretic admits that things have "changed."  Of course, such is the manifesto of the modernists who try to reduce the One True Faith, Catholicism, to nothing more than "smells and bells."  At its core Catholic modernism is nothing more than atheism with a layer of "Catholic spirituality" on top, kind of like a caramel candy bar:

Of course, the modernists will say, "Well, you (the Church) changed your mind on ecuмenism, religious liberty, EENS, etc.," which means that you can change your mind on contraception, gαy sex, abortion, etc., indeed, anything and everything.  In the end, their "faith" will be nothing more than subjectivism.

Yes.  This presentation is clearly drawing a line between before and after Vatican II.

Why haven't more folks responded to this video?

  • It's almost like a rerun from the early days of the revolution. There were conferences similar to this in all the Church halls around the Detroit and tri-state area to brainwash the people into accepting false ecuмenism.

They'll never, in this world at least, give up.

  • I posed the following comment:

    Quote
Pope Leo X, at the Fifth Lateran Council, infallibly declared:

"Moreover, since subjection to the Roman pontiff is necessary for salvation for all Christ's faithful, as we are taught by the testimony of both sacred scripture and the holy fathers, and as is declared by the constitution of pope Boniface VIII of happy memory, also our predecessor, which begins Unam sanctam, we therefore, with the approval of the present sacred council, for the salvation of the souls of the same faithful, for the supreme authority of the Roman pontiff and of this holy see, and for the unity and power of the church, his spouse, renew and give our approval to that constitution, but without prejudice to the declaration of pope Clement V of holy memory, which begins Meruit"

Father Taft's interpretation of the Second Vatican Council must be held to be formally heretical, but if Pope Francis agrees with him, then the sedevacantism position must be correct. "Submission to the Roman Pontiff is necessary for salvation" is a de fide dogma of the Catholic faith, not only for all Catholics, but as Pope Boniface VIII infallibly declared, "for every human creature."

My comment is awaiting "moderation"; I will let the board know if it gets "approved" or not.

    Another heretic:

    http://www.firstthings.com/blogs/firstthoughts/2013/05/reunion-not-a-return-to-rome-on-catholic-orthodox-ecuмenism/

    They're everywhere!

The new Catholic “Sister Churches” ecclesiology describes not only how the Catholic Church views the Orthodox Churches. It also represents a startling revolution in how the Catholic Church views itself: we are no longer the only kid on the block, the whole Church of Christ, but one Sister Church among others. Previously, the Catholic Church saw itself as the original one and only true Church of Christ from which all other Christians had separated for one reason or another in the course of history, and Catholics held, simplistically, that the solution to divided Christendom consisted in all other Christians returning to Rome’s maternal bosom.

Vatican II, with an assist from those Council Fathers with a less naïve Disney-World view of their own Church’s past, managed to put aside this historically ludicrous, self-centered, self-congratulatory perception of reality. In doing so they had a strong assist from the Council Fathers of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church whose concrete experience of the realities of the Christian East made them spokesmen and defenders of that reality.

    Aw, that's so sweet.

They didn't approve my comment; no surprise.  This is one reason (out of many) why I hope that the SSPX does not regularize with Rome, at least until the latter public suppresses heretics such as "Father Taft."

Okay, "what's my point," you ask?  It's that the modernists try to reduce Unam Sanctam to nothing more than "historical circuмstances," and basically try to make it out as not really saying what it says.  However, the Fifth Lateran Council, an ecuмenical Council of the Catholic Church, over 200 years later reaffirmed the teachings of Unam Sanctam, and reaffirmed the Source of those teachings, the Word of God, both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition.
