Title: 5 Issues
Post by: poche on June 27, 2015, 01:07:45 AM
In remarks published in Famiglia Cristiana, Archbishop Bruno Forte discussed what he sees as the five most important issues of the upcoming Synod of Bishops on the family.

Archbishop Forte, the synod’s special secretary, said that the first key issue is “the beauty of the family, a natural society founded on marriage, the stable and fruitful union of a man and a woman.”

The second key issue is “accompaniment.”

“We want to be a Church,” he explained, that “does not hurl anathemas, but stays at the side of the people … We want to innovate the modes of proclamation, not its content.”

The third key issue, he said, includes a discussion of allowing those who have divorced and remarried outside the Church to become “godfathers or godmothers, catechists, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist.”

The fourth is the “ecuмenical and interreligious spirit”; the fifth is “the centrality of the person, which also leads to a greater involvement of women. They must have more space in the internal decision-making processes of the Church” and “be involved in the formation of priests.”

Reading Famiglia Cristiana is like chewing cotton wool, and just about as nutritious. It's a load of Codswallop! I don't know why you would quote it on a traditional Catholic forum. Another of one of those meaningless threads, I suppose, to show us how well-read you are.
