  • To be expected from a "conservative". He wants a "reform of the reform". He thinks Vatican II hasn't truly been implemented.
    Sad.

    Bingo was his name-o.

V2 is absolute TRASH -- ALL OF IT.

We can know the nature of the tree by its fruit; in this case, utter and unmitigated destruction.

Padre is a just another blind man leading others into the V2 pit.

  • I don’t see how it goes anywhere near Tradition itself to acknowledge these issues. Tradition is already good, it is the people who try and follow it that need the correction, not Tradition. Perhaps an outsider wouldn’t understand, but that is not who Fr. is addressing.

    It's simple, really.

It's the difference between a white person criticizing the predominant American Black culture -- and a black person doing so. Most people would react completely differently.
The black has a "pass" to do so, because he is presumed to not hate blacks. The white might just be a "racist" -- speaking from the point of view of your average brainwashed Joe Normie.

Or maybe a better example: a father disciplining his own children who he loves, vs. a stepfather abusing his children for whatever twisted reason.

You can criticize Trads as much as you want -- as long as you are one. But when actual hatred, prejudice, and mistrust of Tradition prevails, you better be careful when you're found ripping Tradition a new one! You better have a "pass" of some sort.

Fr. R has no such pass, from what I can tell. That means he's just hating Tradition with everyone else. There is no PAIN in his heart as he rips Tradition a new one. There is no "This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you, kid."

I, Gladius_Veritatis, or Ladislaus might occasionally vocalize a problem or two found in many quarters of Tradition. In fact, I've seen criticisms that are quite brutal, not sparing the rod at all. But we're not going to go full blitzkrieg "10 things wrong with Tradition". And most important of all, even if we materially utter one or two of these criticisms, it will be like a loving father, not a wicked abusing stepfather.

A loving father isn't going to bring up everything wrong with their child. They might correct this vice yesterday, another vice today, and another vice tomorrow. But what loving father writes "10 things wrong with my son", going on full attack mode?

Some of us have been quite candid in our criticism of Tradition, or "Traddieland" as Gladius has called it. But we criticize out of love. We want Tradition to grow, flourish, and continue, and eventually return to the mainstream Catholic Church. We know that Tradition is the ONLY WAY, the best chance, to save our soul. We have to stick with her. Even though Tradition is made up of human beings, warts and all. You don't get that from Fr. R's article.
